May in South Walton brings beautiful warm weather and lots of outdoor activities. One of our favorite things to do on a Saturday morning is find a great local farmers market. While there are no shortage of farmers markets along Scenic Hwy 30A, one of our favorites has to be the Seaside Farmers Market! Whether you are looking for fresh artisan breads, organic produce and meats, bone broth, local jams, honey, fresh crepes or homemade soaps, you will be sure to find something unique. The Seaside Farmers Market consists of local vendors and artisan chef’s who offer products that are healthy and environmentally friendly year-round, and supporting local environmentally friendly vendors is always a good idea!
Stroll through the beautiful amphitheater lined with palm trees, luscious green grass, vintage air-stream trailers, and visit with the friendly vendors. Most of them are regulars at the market and you will soon come to recognize them once you have been few times. On my most recent trip to the farmers market I was able to sample a few items that I just fell in love with. The first was a homemade smoked tuna dip, which was absolutely amazing. I then sampled a juicy peach to finish off my morning of shopping from one of the many fresh produce stands. I bet you can guess what I bought that day… :). There is even a homemade dog treat vendor for those of you who like to bring your four legged friends along, and YES they do samples as well! If you have never been to Seaside before be sure to also check out the charming small town atmosphere consisting of brick-lined streets, pastel beach cottages and gorgeous architecture throughout the town center, there is truly something unforgettable about this gulf-side community. You can explore most of it by foot, but is always fun on a bicycle if that is more up your alley. The Seaside Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning along the amphitheater from 8 AM-12 PM.
