Imagine a crisp November night under the stars gazing up at films created to inspire. One of 30A’s most unique events, Mountainfilm on Tour, returns to the WaterColor Resort November 3rd through 4th to bring two nights of extraordinary films to lucky attendees with focuses ranging from outdoor adventure to conservation to life lessons.
Originating in Colorado, Mountainfilm encompasses both an annual festival in Telluride and a touring event of either single-day or multi-day shows that travels worldwide throughout the year. The most popular films from the Telluride festival are gathered and made available for touring festivals. Now in its 17th year, Mountainfilm on Tour at WaterColor is a highly anticipated and beloved weekend for 30A guests and residents.
Presenter Jason Merritt will lead both nights of the festival providing insider information on the featured films and the mission of Mountainfilm. Nightly or weekend passes are available along with lodging packages through the resort at www.mountainfilmfl.com. The popular Kidz Kino for children ages 6 to 12 will be available for younger attendees with kid-friendly films featured at the LakeHouse.
Bring a blanket or chair and prepare to be awed by the spectacular imagery and videography of the carefully curated short films displayed. In addition to the films, guests enjoy a luxe covered lounge space with bonfires, s’mores and delicious vending options. The evening offers a perfect way to unwind and experience the welcoming ambiance of the WaterColor community while enjoying cooler fall temperatures.
This year, two coordinating events will also be available to both the public and Mountainfilm attendees. Coffee Talk with Rob Prechtl, star of the featured film ‘The Time Travelers’ will be onsite at the WaterColor Inn Library on Saturday, November 4th from 9:30 to 10:30am for a discussion and Q+A. Then at 11am, Master Naturalist Karl Renelt will lead and Eco Tour on Western Lake. Guests may bring their own board, kayak or canoe or rent from the BoatHouse.
